5 new features on the 2021 Swift Facelift
The entry level hatchback segment was ruled by Maruti Swift before the entry of the premium hatchbacks. Maruti Swift though launched first in 2005, has been performing strongly even after 15 years. It is one of the most famous cars sold in India and is still the best-selling car in 2021. The current generation of Maruti Swift was launched in 2018. While this was a big leap forward compared to the second generation, Maruti is already planning a facelift of this car. New Engine
The new facelifted Maruti Swift will come with the same petrol engine as the current one. The 1.2-litre is quite peppy and pretty famous in India. However, with the facelift Maruti is expected to introduce a mild hybrid system with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The turbo petrol engine used in the Baleno RS if launched in the BS6 avatar can also be expected with the new Swift. Recent rumors also indicated that Maruti can launch BS6 Diesel engines. If this news is true, there will definitely be a BS6 Diesel engine with the 2021 Maruti Swift.
New Exteriors
The overall exterior looks of the car will remain the same. However being a facelift, there will be some changes. For starters, we can expect a new front grille which will help differentiate the car. New alloy wheel designs can also be expected in the higher trims of the car. New colour options along with dual tone finish will add some freshness to the ageing Swift. Other major styling aspects of the car are expected to remain unchanged to keep the production costs low.
New interiors
The main difference in the interiors of the car will be the introduction of new touchscreen infotainment system. The 2021 Maruti Swift in higher trims may be available with 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Swift facelift could receive more features over the outgoing model. Launch and Price
As there are not many changes, the 2021 Maruti Swift can be launched by the end of Q1 2021. Price can also be expected to remain same with a slight increase due to modern features. The Tata Tiago NRG which was earlier spotted testing will get heavy competition from this car. The Maruti Swift facelift will rival the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago and similarly priced micro-crossovers as well. Tata HBX and Hyundai AX1 when launched will face tough competition in terms of price against the 2021 Maruti Swift.
