1) Mahindra Marazzo Petrol
The Petrol MPV segment is quite popular in India, thanks to its affordable costs and more seating options. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6 are the undisputed leaders in this segment without any true competition. In 2021, Mahindra is expected to launch the Marazzo with a 1.5L Petrol engine to make it more affordable and attract new customers. In December 2020, the sales of Marazzo were already down by 80%. For the price of base Marazzo, people prefer Ertiga or XL6 or stretch their budget a little more to accommodate Innova Crysta. In 2021, in the petrol avatar, the MPV is expected to carry a significantly lower price tag.
2) Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra is known for its SUVs and the XUV500 is a popular choice. The new 2021 Mahindra XUV500 has been already spotted testing a couple of times and may launch soon. The new Mahindra XUV500 will be more than a facelift of the car. The exteriors of the car will come with all modern equipments that current-generation cars are famous for. The new Mahindra XUV500 will come with exterior features like LED headlights, DRLs, new front grille and bumper, redesigned hood and overall structure. It is expected to launch by the end of Q1 2021. The tough competition in the similar price range has made it compulsory for the company to provide something unique and attractive to the consumers.
3) Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio is one of the most famous SUVs in Mahindra’s arsenal. This SUV is also expected to get an update in 2021. The main feature of the next generation Mahindra Scorpio is that the new SUV is based on the next-generation Thar’s ladder-frame chassis. Mahindra Thar has already scored a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP tests so this chassis is pretty well built and sturdy.
Like other recent launches, the next generation Mahindra Scorpio will come with simple interiors but with all the modern amenities. A new dashboard layout with touchscreen infotainment system is expected to make an appearance in the interiors. The new Mahindra XUV300 will be a different looking car compared to the current generation. The facelift is expected to draw heavy inspiration from the Alturas G4. The 2021 Mahindra TUV300 is expected to come with an updated front grille with six vertical slats, redesigned front bumper and more angular fog lamp housing. The new Mahindra TUV300 BS6 will definitely get touchscreen infotainment system along with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Some form of connected car technology can also be expected. Sunroof will also be a bonus feature, if included in the higher trims.
5) Mahindra eKUV100
Mahindra is quite sure about its upcoming EV cars in India and the KUV100 will be the first EV in 2021. The car has already been showcased during the Auto Expo 2020. EVs are slowly picking up the pace with the advance in technology. With the introduction of Tesla in India, the EV race has boomed more than ever. The eKUV will have a 150 km driving range on a single charge of its liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. Powering the eKUV is a 15.9kW electric motor which is good for 54.4hp and 120Nm of torque. Mahindra claims that charging the vehicle up will take just 6 hours with a regular charger.
