New Renault Kiger to be revealed tomorrow – Expectations
The sub-four meter compact SUV is the hottest game to be playing in the country right now. Every manufacturer looking to move units wants to be at the table with their offering. So its no surprise that Renault that is currently coping in India with the Duster, Triber and Kicks will want to increase their footprint and gain more new customers with a compact SUV. The New Renault Kiger will help the brand just do that.
Now before going into the story and checking out our expectations, lets remember what we know about the Kiger right now. The car will be made on the CMF-A platform which currently underpins the Kwid, Triber and the Nissan Magnite. It will be powered by a turbo-petrol engine that is also available on the Magnite. The car will not get a diesel engine option. There will be a automatic gearbox in form of a CVT in the car. Apart from that we will have to wait and find out more tomorrow in terms of specs on the car. Now to our expectations.
New Renault Kiger Design
The New Renault Kiger has been teased before and the front of the the car showed us many cues. The car should be taking a lot of inspiration from the facelifted Renault Kwid. The car will get the eyebrow DRLs, big chunky bumpers that could house the headlamps and at the rear we expect the car to get square tailamps with the design inspired by the Renault Duster. We expect a neat design on this car as this will be a global car. Like before, Renault will be showing a car in India first and then also revealing it for launch around the world. So design matters here for the New Renault Kiger. 16-inch tyres here two could be standard and one-upped by offering a 17-inch option for the higher variants. We expect Renault to one-up the Magnite and come off as the more premium choice here from the Alliance
Interior
The New Renault Kiger on the inside will be very much inspired by the Renault Triber in terms of dashboard layout and could come with a big 8-inch touchscreen. The car could get a set of premium speakers just like its cousin, the Magnite. Like the Triber, we could see the car get a cooled center console glovebox and the car could also get a digital instrument cluster. The interior trim will be full of soft touch points and a variants with leather seats could come as a option too. The rear seat passengers should get a armrest, aircon, sunshades and a USB charging point. As for space – it will remain the same as the Magnite which has struck a good balance between the cabin comfort of the seats and bootspace of around 336-litres. The safety features will include more four airbags, ABS,EBD, traction control, 360 degree parking, front parking sensors, tyre position indicator and hill start assist.

With the Magnite, NissanConnect offers 50 plus features on the car. We expect the new Renault Kiger to get some extra nifty features like remote engine start and better voice assist functions.
