Renault new SUV spotted – India-bound

This is the new big SUV from Renault that will replace the old Koleos.

 And for the first time we can now also reveal the interior of this new car, that will eventually get a new name when it hits the dealerships in 2016.

But a new name is not everything, the Koleos successor will much larger and is expected to offer seven seats for the first time. Based on the same CMF (Common Module Family) Renault Nissan platform as the X-Trail, the new SUV will grow significantly compared to the current Koleos. Expect a length closer to five meters instead of the current 4.5 metres.

Even if there still is a lot of camouflage on the prototype we can see that the design resembles a lot of that from the recently revealed Renault Talisman wagon, and that´s a good thing.

 Since this is pretty much the X-trail´s brother we can expect the engines and gearboxes of the Renault SUV to mirror those of the Nissan X-Trail.

With the “one new model every six month” model Renault has , we suspect this will be ready for debut either in Geneva in March or for the Paris Motor Show in September/October 2016.

The Renault SUV will be sharing the platform with the Kadjar also. Renault will be introducing several new products in the Indian car market and one of them is this new SUV as well. There is no exact timeline, but it is expected to be launched in 2018.
