Renault Triber Turbo Petrol Expectations

Turbo Petrol cars are slowly on the rise in India. Every car manufacturer is trying to provide some form of turbo petrol option for people under the budget. Inspite of being quite affordable, most of the cars in this segment pack a punch. Renault Triber when launched was highly criticized for its underpowered engine. However, things can change very soon. Current and Expected Engine

Currently the Triber comes with a manual gearbox and a AMT. We might see the new engine only offered with a manual unit.

As it is clear from the table above the new expected engine will be quite an adequate upgrade. We expect the Nissan Magnite Turbo petrol engine to make an appearance in the Triber. The company may provide both manual and automatic transmission options. If launched,  it will compete against Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz Turbo plus compact SUVs like the Nissan Magnite and Maruti Vitara Brezza. Design and Changes

The current Renault Triber comes with 14/15-inch wheels which are efficiency oriented and get the job done. Renault in its attempt to attract new customers,  may provide 16-inch alloy wheels along with new alloy design. You can also expect some form of turbo badging throughout the car.

Coming to the aesthetic appeal, the new Renault Triber Turbo Petrol is expected to get bigger spoilers, side skirts, and blacked-out front grille. Like the other turbo petrol cars sold in India, the Renault Triber too will be available in bright colour options. The interiors of the car may also see some modifications. Higher trims can get 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with some form of connected car technology. Sunroof will also be a great inclusion at this price point.

Price and Launch

The price is the big USP of the vehicle. The current Renault Triber costs between Rs.5.20 lakh and Rs.7.50 lakh (Ex-showroom). The Renault Triber turbo will cost Rs 60,000-70,000 more than the naturally aspirated version. The possibility is that the turbo version could be based on the top trim(RXZ) of the vehicle. For reference RXZ variant costs around Rs 8.22 lakh(On-road). It is expected to launch somewhere between the March and April 2021.
