Skoda has finally christened the Vision IN SUV. This new mid-size SUV will be called the Kushaq. The car will be going on sale in the summer of 2021 and is going to be placed under the Karoq in the current line-up. The 2021 Skoda Kushaq is a name inspired by the Sanskrit word for ‘king’. We expect the 2021 Skoda Kushaq to be launched around March of 2021 along with the new Volkswagen Vento. This will be a part of the Volkswagen Skoda ‘India 2.0’ strategy.
2021 Skoda Kushaq Specs, features and price
While there is not much that we know about this car, it will be the first product in India that will be based on the MQB AO IN localized platform. The car will most likely use the same 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine as the Karoq and will be offered with a six-speed manual and DSG transmission. A diesel engine might not happen but we hope seeing the competition offerings Skoda could offer it. Skoda will also offer many segment first features that mid-size SUVs are not offering. We expect this car to get three variants and five color options.
In terms of competition and pricing, the 2021 Skoda Kushaq will compete with the Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and MG Hector. We expect this car with heavy localization to be competitively priced from Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom).
