2021 VW Taigun – Expectations
2021 VW Taigun had been teased a week back and we are expecting an unveil of the production model in the coming months. But before we get a glimpse of what the car is, here is what we are expecting from the 2021 VW Taigun currently.
Teaser
This teaser that you see above, talks about how the car is going to be a hair raising experience. So with that we are expecting a good performing engine. Other than that, the teaser also confirms a the yellow colour of the car. A lot of design ques can be seen in the teaser and the 2021 Taigun looks like a sophisticated SUV.
Design
Through the teaser the connected tail lights are the most highlighted feature of the car. The way they are made to connect is also well done. The catch being that this is not the production ready model and we might see some cost cutting in the way this car is designed.
Platform
2021 VW Taigun will come with a MQB-A0 IN. This platform will be tweaked for India and it is expected to cut down a bit on space either in the boot or the rear legroom to fit it in the tax bracket.
The Taigun will be made with 90% of local parts and that will lead to a lower price range. The car competes with Creta and Seltos. Being in that range the VW Taigun will either have to be affordable than this or it should have features that are unique.
Engine
The engine will be a 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol engine. This will be paired to a manual as well as DSG gearbox. The engine here but having just one engine option won’t be enough.
Launch
The 2021 VW Taigun is expected by the mid of this year. This SUV is going to be a product that will come to take some share of the 2nd most happening space in the Indian car market. As of now the prices can be speculated to be about Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakhs.
