2) Engine and Powertrain Combinations
Kia Seltos is being presented with three engines and four gearboxes, a feat unseen until recently. The petrol variants can be opted with a naturally-aspirated 1.5L engine which will develop top power of 113bhp and peak torque of 144Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT auto gearbox.
On the other hand, the diesel variants fetch power from a 1.5L turbo engine which belts out 113bhp and 250Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto transmission. The range-topping GT line trim will feature a 1.4L turbo petrol engine which would unleash 138bhp of max power and 242Nm of highest torque. 3) Bose Premium 8-speaker sound system
Kia Seltos has also earned the distinction of being the country’s first SUV in its segment to feature a Bose premium sound system. In addition, it is also the most affordable SUV in the Indian market to get a Bose sound system to date.
The sound system in the Seltos will have a total of 8 speakers including the tweeters as compared to other SUVs in the segment which get a maximum of 6 speakers including tweeters. The specially designed and developed Bose speakers will also come with Dynamic Speed Compensation technology. According to owners, the sound system provides clarity of music over bass.
4) Internet-Enabled Air purifier
The present COVID scenario has led to the birth of many new features in this segment and Kia Seltos was one of the early ones with this feature. Kia Seltos comes loaded with an in-built air purifier which can be operated and controlled through a Smartphone as well as the touchscreen infotainment system. The settings of the air purifier can be optimized via UVO which is the internet-enabled platform of the company.
The air purifier will help in keeping the cabin pollutants free and odour-free. The company has claimed that it is highly effective and competent as it can remove nearly 95 per cent pollutants under 25 minutes from the cabin. The air purifier has been strategically placed behind the front armrest while it comes with HEPA filter. The digital display with the air purifier at the back of the front armrest also displays the quality of air in the cabin. 5) 10.25-inch HD Touchscreen
Kia Seltos may be the only car in its segment to feature some form of infotainment system from the base variant itself. The base variant of the Kia Seltos comes with 3.8-inch LCD screen with Bluetooth, aux and other basic features. You also get 4-speakers with the SUV which is also pretty decent. The mid-variants boast a 7-inch touchscreen unit followed by the top-end variants which feature the 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with an advanced 7.0-inch colour display panel.
Being the biggest in the segment, it is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, AUX-IN, USB, Navigation and UVO connected features. In addition, the larger size of the infotainment system assists the driver better with the 360-degree view camera and make parking the SUV easier and convenient. This touch unit also offers a split-screen feature so that an individual can perform two tasks simultaneously.
