Mahindra will be launching the S101 in early next year and this will be launched with a 1.

2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engines. “There is a new three-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines, for which the production has just begun,” stated Dr Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra and Mahindra. We were the first to confirm that the S101 will be coming with a 1.2-litre diesel engine.

Mahindra will be launching the S101 (KUV100/XUV100/YUV100) sometime in early 2016 and this will  be powered by three-cylinder engines, which are based on a new platform that it shares with the Ssangyong Tivoli. The 1.2-litre engines will be used by Mahindra, while the 1.6-litre ones will be utilised by Ssangyong and it is already used on the Tivoli.

Mahindra and Ssangyong together developed six engines in total, which are 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre both being developed in petrol and diesel.

5-litre petrol will be utilised by both Mahindra and ssangyong in their new range of upcoming products. Mahindra will be launching its micro SUV next year and this will be manufactured in the company’s Chakan facility. Mahindra is happy with the numbers it has achieved on the TUV300 so far as it has about 12,000 bookings. The AMT is the variant that has the highest waiting at the moment and the Indian utility vehicle manufacturer is working towards increasing its AMT production.
