Royal Enfield is all set to launch the Himalayan at the 2016 Auto Expo as per a report by Zigwheels. The Himalayan will be coming with a 410cc single-cylinder engine that churns about 27bhp of power and 32Nm of torque. This is the new engine that will be powering the upcoming generations of Royal Enfields. This comes mated to a five-speed transmission. As per the earlier information, the Himalayan was due to be unveiled at the Rider Mania this month, however this has now been changed.

The engine will rev up to 6500-7500rpm and this won’t get the traditional push roads but rather sport overhead camshafts. The Himalayan will have an analog odometer, speedometer and tachometer.

The bike will have front and rear disc brakes as well. ABS won’t be offered even as an optional feature. It seems that ABS will be offered as a feature on the Himalayan adventure tourer, which will be launched in 2017. The bike shall be offered with aftermarket accessories like hard luggage, high windscreen and even crash protection bars.
