Hyundai i10 Nios Safety gets 2 Stars

Hyundai i10 Nios safety was tested by Global NCAP under the crash test that was performed under the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign. It scored 2-stars for overall safety. Here is a complete analysis where it lacks in terms of safety. Also, know about its score in various different departments.

Safety point Scored

Hyundai i10 Grand Nios scored 2 stars in adult occupant protection test and 2 stars for child occupancy protection. In all, there are 17 points for the adult occupant protection. Here the Hyundai i10 Nios Safety gains 7.05 points. The child protection has a maximum of 49 points and the Nios gets 15.

This test was conducted in the form of  Front Offset Deformable Barrier Test was performed at a speed of 64 km/h.

Hyundai i10 Nios Safety Features

For the Global NCAP the Nios that was used the base model with 2 front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. The car comes with a reverse camera and an emergency stop signal too.

Other features include projector headlamps, fog lamps, 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A wireless charger, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and keyless entry are seen on higher trims.

Engine

Grand i10 Nios comes with 2 petrol engine. One is the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit which makes 83 bhp and 114 Nm. The other engine 1.0-litre turbo engine which makes 100 bhp and 172 Nm. Both engines get a 5-speed manual transmission. AMT is only available on the 1.2-litre engine.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes at a price of Rs 5.12 – 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price getting, this amount of safety is okay but you could look for a better and safer option at this price.
