Jupiter is the highest selling scooter of TVS. It now got a new base variant which not only lowers price but also adds value to the upper scooters making them more desirable. Here is all that you need to know about the new TVS Jupiter 110 base variant.

Why a Base Variant?

The simple answer is the lower price it always a better deal. The more complicated one is that the BS6 had increased the price and along with taxation laws the scooter was heading towards the peak price point of its segment. Although Activa is priced much higher than the Jupiter 110 the Activa brand name has a value that makes those sales happen.

Just having a good product like the Jupiter 110 was not helping TVS and thereby TVS is pushing the boundaries and offering a new base variant right before Diwali. TVS did not introduce a limited or special edition on this cooter this time as there is already the classic and grande which are there if you want a premium Jupiter 110. Instead of having a base variant might cater to those who want to stretch their budget during Diwali.

Changes on the New Base Variant

This new Jupiter 110 base variant has downgraded to a halogen headlamp and sheet metal wheels. It gets drum brakes at both ends. There are no other changes to the scooter. It continues to gets 109.7 cc engine which makes a power of 7.9 bhp in its BS6 state of tune. It has 8 Nm of peak torque which is fair enough for city use. Also, the CVT gearbox on Jupiter is considered to be a low maintenance unit. Along with the new EcoThurst Fi system on all TVS 2 wheelers after BS6 there is also a 15% increase in fuel economy.

The Jupiter competes against Honda Activa 6G, Hero Maestro Edge, Hero Destini 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Yamaha Fascino 125. For more such content stay subscribed to the Motoroctane Youtube, Google NEWS, Facebook and Twitter. We also have a car consultancy service – Know more
