The Volkswagen Polo is not the most value for money car in its segment as of now. Its out-dated design and dull interiors with overpriced price tag make the Volkswagen Polo not the best choice. The Volkswagen Polo is simply known for its great build quality and punchy performance. Find out below about Volkswagen Polo Diesel which produces more power than a Mahindra Thar.
More about the Polo
The video of the modification has been uploaded by Race Concepts on their YouTube channel. The main aim of the video is to show, what the diesel motor of a Volkswagen Polo is capable of doing if it receives the right upgrades. No exterior modifications/cosmetic changes have been made to the car. The only noticeable changes on it are the new aftermarket black alloy wheels that add sportiness to the car. It is quite tough to believe that this simple looking car generates 200bhp, while That only produces 138bhp. The video explains in detail what all changes/modifications have been made to get such results.
What about modifications?
Performance modifications include front-mounted intercooler, a larger turbo, custom plumbing for the intercooler and BMC carbon cold air intake along with a custom turbo muffler. The car has also gone through Stage2 plus remap and a piggyback controller. Coming to the side profile, it now runs on 17-inch black alloy wheels. It is now installed with a full set of K-sport coil-overs.
The car sounds quite normal too, owing to no changes to exhaust of the car. The presenter takes it for a spin and the car sounds exactly like a regular diesel Polo at lower RPMs and opens up as the RPMs go up. The engine had become more rev friendly after these modifications. More about Polo produces more power than Thar below.
The Volkswagen Polo is not available with the diesel engine anymore. After BS6, it is now available with a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that generates 75bhp and 95Nm of torque, and a 1.0 litre-3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 110bhp-175Nm of torque. The updated 2020 version is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option.
