TVS had showcased a concept of a cruiser bike in Auto Expo 2018. The cruiser – TVS Zeppelin had been in and out of new ever since. There was no confirmation about its launch timeline and the product had just become a future product of TVS. Now the TVS Zeppelin R trademark has stirred things up which had settled as TVS did not participate in Auto Expo 2020. Here is all you need to know about the TVS Zeppelin R.

Copyright Application

TVS has applied the patent document under the name Zeppelin R. This has been granted to TVS now and the name can be given to the production-ready version of the cruiser bike. This registration is important as TVS has not revealed anything from their side about the Zeppelin since 2018.

Engine

TVS Zeppelin side

According to the information from Auto Expo 2018 the Zeppelin will have a 220cc engin. Now this engine should supposedly be a derivate of the 200cc engine on the Apache RTR 200 4V. The Apache RTR 200 4V has recently got noteworthy updates for the festive season. Know More – New Apache RTR 200 4V gets Rider Modes.

TVS zeppelin R

The Zeppelin will have a long sport fuel tank with offset fuel lid just like the Apache. The long and comfortable seat is to be the key to making this bike a very comfortable cruiser. Also this bike was shown with a lot of connected technology and we are expecting a fraction of it to be seen on the production-ready Zeppelin R.

Launch Expectation

The launch of this cruiser will take place next year only. TVS has not hinted anything about the launch and conducting an unveil and launch within 2 months of 2020 won’t be possible. What TVS is aiming at with this bike is entering this new growing segment of cruiser bike. After the wave of Adventure bike now the market is expected to split its focus towards cruiser bike. TVS has already plans for an RR310 based bike which is expected to be an adventure motorcycle.

TVS-Zeppelin-Cruiser

Currently, Royal Enfield is planning to bring in the all-new radicle  Meteor which improves the cruising aspect of Royal Enfield bikes. Along with that, there are other competitors like the recently launched Honda H’ness which is expected to turn heads away from the Royal Enfield. The Benelli Imperiale 400 is also in the competition along with the Jawa 300 and Jawa 42. All these bikes are priced under Rs 2 lakhs (ex-showroom). So we expect the Zeppelin R to play in the same ballpark. TVS Zeppelin R Trademark hinted to a direction in which TVS is working on their next bike.
