This decision of Harley Davidson had put a lot of owners questioning about the service of their existing bikes. The Harley Hero pact will solve this problem and many other issues related to the after-sales service.
As mentioned in the agreement Hero will also sell on behalf of Harley. This will be the parts and merchandise under the brand name Harley Davidson. Harley Davidson has much more fans than the bikes themselves. Also, the parts manufacturing is partially based in India and to provide aftersales service Harley had to provide Hero with that right.
Also, note that these will be available at Harley Davidson exclusive showrooms as well as Hero’s existing network.

This tie-up was under talks for many months before Harley’s decision to move out became official. This official announcement now states “This arrangement is mutually beneficial for both companies and riders in India, as it brings together the iconic Harley-Davidson brand with the strong distribution network and customer service of Hero MotoCorp.”
The biggest benefit that we are expecting is the new bike that might emerge out of this tie-up. Hero has not placed its foot in the 350cc classic bike segment and neither Harley has made an adventure bike. Hero has really adept research when it comes to rallying bikes and adventure. Similarly, Hero could use Harley to bring in a bike in the 350 classic segments. The bikes that will be co-developed will come under the name of Harley Davidson.
Harley Davidson also had the plan to bring a naked streetfighter along with Qianjiang Motors. This might not make it to India now.
