2021 Toyota Fortuner has been unveiled and launched back June in Thailand – Is this the Toyota Fortuner Facelift for India?. Now there have been recent spy images of the Toyota Hilux being spied while testing in India. We expect that the 2021 Toyota Hilux will share the same interior and tech with the Toyota Hilux. Here is what is expected on the 2021 Toyota Fortuner interiors.

Toyota Hilux Interiors

There won’t be much changed on the exterior but on we will be seeing sensors as well as cameras at the front and rear. This new upcoming 2021 Toyota Fortuner is expected to get a 360 view camera and parking sensors. This technology is seen currently on the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo – Read more on the TRD version of the Fortuner here.

Having a 360 camera also open avenues for safety implications like braking assist and parking assist. Moving to the new interiors of the vehicle, the most noticeable change is the new touch screen. The previous generation has a 6-inch touchscreen which seemed rather insufficient for the size of the vehicle. The new touchscreen pannel has to large to accommodate the 360 cam view for better assist.

Along with the bigger screen, this new system on the 2021 Toyota Fortuner Interiors will have Apple Carplay and Android Auto. We hope that these should be wireless. the car will have 2 cup holders in the centre ahead of which there is a place for wireless charging.

New touch screen

Besides the touch screen unit, there is a secondary screen which seems to display the status of the seatbelts and airbags.

Centre Console

The centre console of this 2021 Toyota Fortuner interiors seems to have a lot of buttons which also includes the hill descent and traction control on/off switch. The central AC vents seem like there was no space left for them and are rather small in size for the car of this size. But unless we drive the car and test the AC it would be wrong to judge their performance.

The drive mode selector is also on the centre console right beside the gear selector. There are only 2 modes – Power and Eco. The seats of this Hilux do not show any ventilation function but the 2021 Toyota Fortuner, if misses out on that, would be really not good.

The car gets ambient lighting on the doors. There is no indication of lights being placed for the footwell as well as no options of customizations of colour either. Lastly, the car is expected to get a JBS sound system.
