The Kerala MVD is always in the news for its strict implementation of the traffic laws. In a country with so much population and a high rate of traffic accidents, this surely is a boon for the people of Kerala.  The State government has now also been acquiring new advanced tech to implement the rules better.  Find out below about the new updates in Kerala Motor Vehicle Department.

LUX Meter

Meco 930t Digital Lux Meter: Amazon.in: Industrial & Scientific

The first device, which a Kerala cop shows is a lux meter, which can measure the intensity of light. Driving against high beam factory lights is already a challenge during night time, but the addition of aftermarket LED lights only add to the problem. With the help of this device, cops will be able to measure the intensity of light and judge if any tampering has been done to the factory-fitted lighting of the car.  This device alone can save a lot of lives by preventing many accidents at night.

Sound Meter

Living in a busy city with noisy roads is a nightmare nowadays. It is utterly deteriorating for our physical and mental health. This new sound meter can be used to check loudness of exhaust in decibels. Even in the stock exhaust, if the owner tries to increase the loudness, the cops can know it with the help of this device.  The same device will also be used to measure the loudness of horn/aftermarket horn.  It will provide residents of Kerala with sound sleep at night. Many people who use air horns or pressure horns, which are banned by law will be severely punished.

Tint Meter

Kerala Motor Vehicle Department

The Supreme Court of India has already banned fully dark tints on every vehicle. With this third device, cops can check if the tint on a vehicle is within limit. Small amount of light colour tint helps a lot in a warm/sunny country like India.  All these types of equipment going to be used by Kerala MVD promises strict action against all those who consider themselves above traffic laws.

Kerala also serves as the base in India, for the highest number of modified vehicles. Everything is good under a limit, and these techs will help the cops put an end to those which are above them.  The Kerala Motor Vehicle Department is also the first in India to get Electric Vehicles in the form of Tata Nexon EV.
