Nissan India has unveiled the Magnite Compact SUV for India. The New Nissan Magnite has been made under the philosophy ‘Make in India. Make for the World.’ The is a launch that is targeted for the festive season this year. Here is all that Nissan offers on the Magnite.
The car has LED bi-projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. To give it an SUV look it gets squared wheel arches. Also, the car even though it is a SUV fits within 4 metres.
The Magnite is a part of Nissan Next strategy where Nissan is going to launch 12 new cars globally in the next 18 months.
The front and rear of the new Nissan Maginite gets Silver skid plates. Overall there is a generous use of silver and chrome on the car. The car also gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and silver roof rails. these are functional roof rails with 50 kg load-bearing capacity.

The new Nissan Magnite also features puddle lamps which are rare on a car in this segment. The car gets an 8-inch infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly. Nissan Connect also added some extra functionality to the infotainment system.
Nissan Magnite gets around-view monitor and the driver instrument cluster is completely digital. There is a Tyre pressure monitoring system on the SUV which makes it convenient to keep a track of tyre pressure and extract the most mileage out of the car.
Other features include Engine start Stop, Wireless charging, cruise control and traction control.
The new Nissan Magnite is expected to come with a 1.0-litre turbo Petrol engine. This is paired to a manual 5-speed transmission and also a CVT gearbox is offered as an option. A mileage of 20 km/l is expected from the car. We do not expect other engine options on this car as Nissan is trying to minimise the clutter of variants.
The Magnite will be available to customers with dual-tone options in addition to the regular colours. The Dual-tone option on this car suggests that the car will have variants that will focus on premiumness.
The Nissan Magnite is a car that is a competition for the best selling Maruti Brezza. The Maruti Brezza is an SUV which has recently got an Update. Also there is the Toyota Urban Cruiser which is technically a Maruti Brezza with different bumpers. Other cars include the Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet.
In terms of engine, the Nissan Magnite lacks in the options it offers. Not all competing cars offer engine option but those who do offering a naturally aspirated engine too. The places where the Nissan Magnite shines is the way it offers a lot of features at this price range. With the 360 camera and the puddle lights and other features on this car, it has been a surprise when it was announced.
The only deciding factor if the Nissan Maginite will be hit or not will be the pricing of this car. The expectations range from Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 11 lakhs. But we have to remember that if the car is announced at Rs 6 lakhs as an introductory price then the base variant is not going to get most of these segment-first features. So the Rs 11 lakh might be the amount where you might see most of the features.
