Maruti Jimny spotted in India (on Test)

After the Thar the Maruti Jimny is the other car that has been speculated for so long. Finally, some images of the Jimny have been surfaced on the internet while it was being tested in India. Here is a list of things that we think will be available on the Jimny India.

3 Door version

The Jimny that we see in the images is a 3-door car. the car will compete with the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha which both are also 3-door cars. Having 3 door does not mean it will be a two-seater. It will have 4 seats but to access the rear seats on will have to fold the front ones.

New Alloy Design

The alloy design on the Jimny is pretty different from any of the alloys on the current Maruti cars. Also, the tyre size is big and suitable for offroad. This vehicle, just like the thar will be an offroad vehicle which also tries to be a good road car.

Side Swung rear Door

The rear door of the Maruti Jimny India will be side swung just like the International model. Also, it seems to have a smaller glass area than the Mahindra Thar whose rear glass opens. Having a rear door open like that does not mean that there will be an option of jumper seats. There is also a tyre mounted on the rear door so we should expect it to be heavy.

No Soft Top

The Maruti Jimny is very unlikely to have a soft-top roof. The Maruti Jimny has never been showcased in that avatar and is very unlikely for Maruti to develop for India.

Maruti Jimny Sierra

The badging of Jimny Sierra is been seen on this car. The difference between Jimny and Jimny Sierra is in the form of engine. The Sierra internationally gets a 4 cylinder 1.5-litre engine. The Jimny India will be incomplete without 4wheel drive and with Manual and Automatic transmission.
