The full-size SUV segment in India has been ruled by the Toyota Fortuner for quite some time now. While the Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4 are not quite behind, Fortuner has a fan following of its own which is tough to replicate and beat. The newly launched MG Gloster promises tough competition to all the cars in the segment by promising itself to be a segment higher than the competition. Reader should note that the MG Gloster is available with the introductory price now and will increase in the coming future after 31st October 2020. The base variants of all the cars are priced quite near to each other except the Endeavour. You also get the most variants to choose from in the Toyota Fortuner because of the availability of a petrol engine.
The top variant of the Mahindra Alturas G4 on the other hand is drastically cheaper than the competition. Buying the Mahindra product also gives you the added advantage of Vocal for Local product.

MG Gloster is huge. While the Toyota Fortuner is the most popular and famous amongst the lot, it does not lead in any dimension. Does it prove that size does not matter? Only time can tell. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is the widest car of the lot and will surely pose a threat in narrow city roads and bumper to bumper traffic.

The Toyota Fortuner as referred above is the only full-size SUV which comes with a petrol engine option. The MG Gloster with two engine configurations also provides options for different needs. Both the Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster though have the smallest engine in their respective segment. The 10-speed AT with the Mahindra Alturas G4 is also a unique feature in this segment. While the fuel efficiency figures of the MG Gloster are not still out, the Toyota Fortuner’s Diesel engine with the MT provides the best at 15.04kmpl.
