Mahindra Thar 1st 2020 final Charity details
The Mahindra Thar 2020 has been one of the biggest automobile launches in India after a very long time. People had to wait for a long period for its first look and Mahindra did not disappoint. How was the charity conducted?
Mahindra announced that the 1st Mahindra Thar 2020 will be auctioned off and the money raised will be donated to charity. The total auction period was close to 6 days. Around 5000 people were a part of this auction. At last, the owner Mr Akash Minda from Delhi sealed the deal at Rs.1.11Cr. The starting price of the Thar to be auctioned off was set at Rs.25 lakh.
Where will the money go?
One portion of the money will go to Mahindra for Akash’s the first Mahindra Thar, variant and colour option as decided by Akash. The majority portion of the money will be donated for charity directly by the customer. Mahindra has also promised that it will match the owner’s contribution to charity. So if, Mr. Akash for example donated Rs.80 lakh, Mahindra too will provide Rs.80 lakh thus making the total contribution of about Rs.1.16 Cr.
New Automatic Transmission
Mahindra Thar is a newborn machine now. The company listened to its faithful fan following and will provide an automatic transmission. Automatic transmission is known for its comfort and ease of usability. A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be provided to be precise.
Engine and Performance
The Mahindra Thar 2020 comes with two BS6 engine options. A 2.0L mStallion petrol engine which comes with a 6-speed MT/AT produces 152hp. There is also a 2.2L m-HAWK Diesel engine option which produces 132hp and comes with similar transmission options. Four-wheel drive and manual shift transfer case are provided on all the variants.
