India’s first Kia Seltos with rear seat entertainment

Kia Motors launched their first product in India last year. Since its arrival, the SUV became a quick best-seller and gave tough competition to segment leader, Hyundai Creta.  With the passing times, aftermarket modifications and accessories are also now available for the popular car. What is the modification?

Two android screens for the rear seat passengers are ideal for long trips in the car. The owner of the Kia Seltos knows his stuff and uses Hypersonic’s 12.25-inch Android Screens. The android screen comes with Android and iOS phone link, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 and LED panel. The total cost of the modification turns out to be Rs. 45,000.  The screens were installed in the back of the headrest and wiring was taken behind the seats and under the flooring. Practicality

The wire management job is impressive. The screens are also not connected with each other so can function independently.  The screens can also be tilted and pulled forward to adjust the viewing angles.  This specific screen model also came with ambient-lighting out of the box.  Both the screens can be considered android tablets which can be connected to the Internet on the go.  Resolutions up to 720p are supported and the pictures look quite sharp too. You can also connect both the screens together via HDMI to stream the same content.  Kia officially also provides the same features in their luxury MPV, the Kia Carnival which has been made for rear-seat passengers.  It is also not clear if the aftermarket modification will keep the factory warranty intact.

More about Seltos

The Kia Seltos costs between Rs.9.89 lakh to Rs.17.34 lakh(ex-showroom).  It is available in 16 variants with 3 BS6 engine options.  Both manual and automatic transmission are also present.  Kia also recently updated their features and price list for the Seltos. Seltos comes with a 1.5L Diesel, 1.4L Turbocharged Petrol and 1.5L Petrol engine.  Kia Seltos may get an iMT update in the near future.
