What’s offered in Hyundai Santro base variant?

The Indian automotive car market is filled with options. The most popular segment is the entry-level hatchback segment. There is cut-throat competition in the segment and Maruti has dominated it since a very long time.  But the Hyundai Santro is also a popular car with a historical legacy. Variant, Price and Engine

The Hyundai Santro is available in four variants options to choose from: Era Executive, Magna, Sportz, and Asta. The 2020 Hyundai Santro base variant Era Executive costs Rs.4.57 lakh (Ex-showroom).  CNG option is not available in this variant.

A 1.1L petrol engine is available with the car. It produces a maximum power output of 68bhp@5500rpm and a peak torque output of 99Nm@4500rpm. There is a 35L fuel tank capacity.  13-inch steel rims are provided with the car.  Hyundai promises highway mileage of 19.44kmpl with the Santro.  5-speed manual transmission takes care of the shifting.

Safety

Safety was not one of the most important parameters in car-buying decisions till recently. However, times have changed and car owners have realized the importance of safety. The Era Executive variant of the Hyundai Santro comes with basic safety features like Immobilizer, Rear parking sensor, Driver-side airbags, ABS with EBD, Child-safety door locks, Seat belt reminder and Speed alert system.   Spending only a little amount more, you get a fully safe car like Tata Tiago with advanced safety features and 4-star GNCAP rating.

Exterior and Interior Features

Exterior features only include body-coloured front bumpers, and hub caps. Interior features include Premium dual-tone black and beige interiors, Storage space,  Reading lamp, and Champagne Gold Interior colour garnish. All these features are bare-bones and basic and do not help the car stand out in any way.

Tachometers, Warning and indicators,  and a 6.53cm Advanced Multi-information display is also included in the base variant of the Hyundai Santro.  You do not get any audio/infotainment system with the car.

Comfort and Convenience

The base variants of all cars are known for their poor comfort features. The Hyundai Santro 2020 BS6 comes with comfort features like Electric power steering, Manual AC, Front power windows, Remote fuel lid open, Remote tailgate open and rear seat bench-folding.

You get disc brakes on the front while drum brakes on the rear of the car.  The length of the Santro is 3610mm, width is 1645mm, and height is 1560mm. There is 2400mm wheelbase of the car.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Santro comes with colour options like Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey,  Imperial Beige, Alpha Blue, Fiery red and Diana Green.  Under the Santro first care program you get 3yrs/1,00,000km Warranty and 3 Years Road Side Assistance.
