10) Maruti EECO

This is the only van in our list and does not have any real competition against it. Maruti recently updated the EECO to meet BS6 norms with changes to both exteriors and interiors. The major difference will be the BS6 engine and dual-tone interiors. 9,113 units of the Maruti EECO were sold in the month of August 2020. The car costs between Rs.3.9 to Rs.5.05 lakh. Monopoly is never good for customers and other brands must realize this.

9) Maruti Ertiga

The perfect MUV for its price segment. 9,302 units of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga were sold in the month of August 2020.

Ertiga and XL6 together sold around 10,000 units the previous month. The Maruti Ertiga costs between Rs.7.58 to Rs.10.12 lakh. After BS6, only petrol and CNG is available for purchase.

8) Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

This car was absent from the top 10 list for a very long time, but has now returned. 10,190 units of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios have been sold in the month of August 2020.  The car costs between Rs.5.06 to Rs.8.29 lakh. It serves as one of the best options in the entry-level hatchback segment

7) Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos was launched last year, but is still a strong contender.  10,655 units of the Kia Seltos have been sold in the month of August 2020.  The Kia Seltos comes with three engine options: 1.5-litre Petrol, 1.5-litre Diesel and 1.4-litre Turbo Petrol.  Kia is Hyundai’s sister brand and this car rivals directly with the Hyundai Creta.

  You get both HT and GT line options to choose from. The Kia Seltos costs between Rs.9.89 to Rs.17.34 lakh It also the second bestselling SUV in the Indian car market.

6) Maruti Baleno

Maruti sold close to 10,742 units of this car in the month of August 2020 which is less compared to the previous month. Baleno still only gets a petrol engine but people seem to love it. Maruti Baleno costs between Rs.5.7 to Rs.9.03 lakh. It is also the only Nexa product in our list.

5) Hyundai Creta

The undisputed leader of its segment, the Hyundai Creta sold around 11,758 units in the month of August  2020.  The gap between Seltos and Creta numbers till June was quite nominal but now things have drastically changed.  The new facelift worked its magic and this is the number 1 SUV sold in the market in terms of sales figures. The Hyundai Creta costs between Rs.9.99 to Rs.17.2 lakh. It has consistently grabbed sales above 10,000.

4) Maruti Dzire

Maruti sold around 13,692 units of this car in the month of August 2020. Swift and Dzire itself have become a brand name in India and attract customers quite easily.  The Dzire also comes with a single petrol engine with a 5-speed manual/AMT transmission.  The new Maruti Dzire costs between Rs.5.88 to Rs.8.8 lakh. It has become the best-selling sedan in the country and there is no looking back.

3)  Maruti WagonR

Considered to be the perfect first car by many, the Maruti WagonR sold 13,770 units in the month of August  2020.  You get a 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine to choose from. The 1.0-litre engine also comes with a CNG option. Both  5-speed manual/AMT transmission are available for purchase. The Maruti WagonR BS6 costs between Rs.4.5 to Rs.5.99 lakh.

2) Maruti Alto 800

Maruti sold 14,397 units approximately in the month of August 2020.  The Maruti Alto 800 costs between Rs.

2.99 to Rs.4.41 lakh. Maruti is known for its reliability and service. Network is one of the most strong points of this brand.  Maruti as a brand is hugely popular in India and the same thing may be said for a very long time.

1) Maruti Swift

Maruti it is, to top off the list!  Both the siblings are quite popular in the Indian market. Maruti has sold 14,869 units of the Maruti Swift in the month of August 2020.  The entry-level hatchback segment is quite popular with first-time car buyers and Swift is leading the competition. The Maruti Swift costs between Rs.5.18 to Rs.8.01 lakh. Maruti uses HEARTECT platform in 5 products out of the Top 10 selling cars.
