One of the most important bits of a good-off roader is its suspension.  The new Mahindra Thar 2020 BS6 has ditched the old-leaf spring suspension and now comes with multi-link rear suspension and independent double wishbone suspension in the front.

The benefits due to this new suspension setup include better ride on tarmac, better flexing, and better approach and departure angles for off-roading and can handle jerky landings very easily. We still have not driven the new Thar off-roads. Stay tuned to our YouTube channel for more details.

4X4 System

The 2020 Mahindra Thar BS6 retains the shift-on-the-fly-low-range transfer case. The above case comes with three options: 2H, 4H and 4L. You also get mechanically locking differential at the rear-axle of the SUV which provides power to the wheel with the most traction in slippery road conditions.

You also get an electric driveline disconnect which easily transitions from 4WD to 2WD.
