BMW G310 GS bookings open – What’s Expected?

BMW has opened the bookings of the G310 bikes. Both these bikes were seen while being tested during the lockdown. Why does the BMW GS 310 Matter?

There is a rapid growth in the adventure segment of the motorcycle market in India. With all the major brands having one adventure bike under their name BMW also had introduced the GS name at an affordable price. The problem that this bike faced was that the bike was introduced at a price where the buyer is keen enough to check if the bike does offer Value for money but also has the required features.

With this BS6 update, it is expected that the bike will get the required price cut to offer the BMW badge at a low cost thereby making it look like a good value for money proposition. Also the flaws in the bike are being worked on and we expect a much more refined machine than before.

BMW Apache influence

The BMW GS 310 will also see some changes that were seen on the Apache RR310. The Apache has offered customers with rider modes and ride by wire technology at a very seemingly low price. Essentially the engine on both the bike is the same and integrating the same technology on the BMW GS 310 will not be that of a development task. Although this is not a confirm news expectations of this are pretty high.

Having rider modes on the BMW GS 310 will bring more of the GS experience to this small bike and will make a go-to machine at that price point. With the booking of the bike being opened at Rs 50,000. Although the booking amount is pretty high we are expecting a price cut of Rs 30,000 on the current price of the bike.

Fears with Price Cut

BMW GS 310 and the BMW G 310 R is expected at Rs 3.20 and Rs 2.70 lakhs. At these price, the GS is still expensive than the KTM 390 adventure which currently is considered at the pinnacle of adventure bikes in India.
