Tata Harrier became quite a successful product from Tata after a very long time. It was the perfect car in all the right areas and scored full points in terms of safety. 14 ESP features provided with the car were segment best. The Tata Harrier is also made on Land Rover’s modified platform known as Omega Arch. We have already written an article about both its highlights.

But the car was only available in Diesel which was a strong drawback. The market’s shift towards petrol has attracted Tata and the new petrol Harrier may launch soon.  The upcoming SUV will most likely be fitted with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.  The unofficial figures claim a maximum power output of 168bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission will be provided for customers.

Tata Gravitas

Harrier’s elder brother, Tata Gravitas was first showcased during the Auto Expo 2020. It will be quite similar to the MG Hector Plus which was launched recently with a local touch added to it. You will get a 2.0-litre engine with this car. Tata has made this car on Land Rover’s modified platform and provided a finishing touch to it.  Features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Climate Control.  Tata is known for its safety and this new car will be no exception.

Airbags, ABS with EBD and many other safety features will be made available from the base variant itself. The Auto Expo model did not have a sunroof but MotorOctane promises a high possibility of panaromic sunroof in the production variant of the car.  You will also get connected car technology in this car to help it stand equally against its arch-rival the Hector Plus.  This car will be priced close to the Hector Plus which comes with a price tag between Rs.13.48 to Rs.18.53 lakh. Tata HBX (Hornbill)

The ultra-compact SUV segment is not the most popular but still has many buyers. Currently, this segment is dominated by Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT which promise to deliver SUV like looks at a hatchback price. Mind you, only the looks. The same will be the case with Tata HBX.  The concept car was showcased at Auto Expo 2020 where Tata officials informed that the car was 90% production-ready.

But the car is surely taking much more time to launch. It will launch preferably in the Rs.5.0 to Rs7.0 lakh segment.  The car is said to be based on the Tata Altroz’s platform which will provide it with all the strengths of its sibling. The interiors of the car too like the competiton will be filled with modern features and come with the safety of Tata products.
