Kia was the first company to reveal details about the new iMT transmission. Hyundai, however, took the market by storm by directly updating its Venue with an iMT transmission, becoming the first car in India. The clutchless transmission is fairly affordable and costs just Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 more over the conventional manual transmission.

To give the Kia Sonet exclusivity they will be offering a Diesel automatic combination which will be a segment-first. This might be the most expensive variant in the lineup too. This will be apart from the 7-speed DCT. All this will be explained when the variants are out.

Like the Kia Seltos, the Kia Sonet will be available in two broad trim levels. These are named Tech line and GT line, same as the Seltos.  The spy pics show the interiors of the GT line of the car. As seen in the pictures, the interior looks quite similar to the Kia Seltos. Kia wants to launch this new car at aggressive pricing and these techniques will help keep the production costs low.
