The Duke 250 which was pending of a BS6 update is soon slated for the launch. As the price hike is expected we had not expected any new change to the bike. But there is a news that the bike will not miss out much over the Duke 390. Know more about the expected changes of the BS6 KTM Duke 250

What Changes?

Although there is time for the launch of the BS6 model the leaks are out that the bike will have an LED headlight as on the 390. This means that there will be better illumination along with those killer looks offered on the Duke 390.

Along with this change, there is a new space grey paint scheme that is expected on the bike which actually takes off the plastic look from the fibre body of the bike.

Why better than Duke 390?

The 250cc engine is smaller but the power that it produces is delivered in a friendly manner. Like the Duke 390, it does not scare the rider and is a bit forgiving for beginner mistake. Also, cost-wise the Duke 250 is not going to be expensive than the Duke 390 and the things that it misses out are not that of a great deal.

BS6 KTM Duke 250 misses out on an LCD TFT colour display. This display is being a completely digital display is a bit difficult to maintain and is prone to water damage. Also, the bike has a smaller engine and the mileage is also higher.

All this makes it a better city bike than the Duke 390. As you are going to use the bike more in the city than on the highway this makes it much easier to live with. This engine also runs relatively cooler and with the BS6 update we expect KTM to work on it for better cooling also.

Best 250cc Engine

With the heating up 250cc segment, the competition has increased drastically. You can find this same 250cc engine in various other bike and in other forms like on the Dominar 250 and the Husqvaranas. Also, Yamaha has also got their 250cc FZ 25 which you can read about here. But hands down the engine on this bike is the best in terms of performance in the 250cc segment.

We will soon see an update about the BS6 KTM Duke 250 from KTM and the expected price is Rs 4000 more than the current model at Rs 2.5 lakhs. That makes it the most expensive 250cc bike but also you will be offered with a bike that is the closest to the KTM Duke 390.
