SsangYong E100 electric has been teased today. This company is owned by Mahindra and a few of the latest models are based on the platforms from this company. So if SsangYong is ready with the E100 electric then does it mean that the XUV300 electric is also underway?

Mahindra had shown a concept of the eXUV300 at the Auto Expo 2020. The SsangYong Tivoli is seen with the similar styling. Now as the vehicle is for the international market it can not be said surely that it will be a sub-four-metre car. On the other hand, the XUV300 electric will be a sub-four-metre offering from Mahindra.

XUV300 Electric Design

The design was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and we expect that there won’t be much of the changes. The XUV300 Electric that was shown at the Auto Expo 2020 was a bit more boxier and it has sharper and futuristic design than the current IC powered XUV 300.

As there is news about the SsangYong E100, this car will also take its shape from the XUV300 electric.

Platform

The XUV300 electric is expected to make use of the same MESMA (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) which is used on the XUV300. The E100 will also make use of this platform but with a left-hand drive layout.

Power and Range

The Mahindra eXUV300 will come with the power of 350V. The range is not yet disclosed but we expect it to compete with the Tata Nexon. There is also an expectation of a dual-range variant for the XUV300 electric.

The 380V motor might be seen in the future on both the eXUV300 and the SsangYong E100. Currently, there is no official launch date for both these cars. The Ssangyong has faced its share of loss abroad and it has to lead to Mahindra & Mahindra to top any further investment in SsangYong Motors. Mahindra is looking for investors for this company but has not ruled out its presence from SsangYong.
