Only some new spy shots and different angles of the car are visible now. Details are highly covered at this point. No information is available for the battery and electric motor of this new Maruti WagonR EV. However this car will be specifically made for fleet usage in the city, so the range is estimated to be around 130km on a single charge. Maruti Suzuki will build the WagonR EV on the HEARTECT platform. The overall dimensions of the car may remain unchanged to reduce production costs and make this EV affordable.

Additional highlights

Maruti may add dedicated driving modes and regenerative braking to boost the performance as well as the efficiency of the car. The manufacturer is not changing the tallboy look of the new Maruti WagonR EV for keeping the production cost low. Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV may be sold through Maruti Suzuki Arena and will be priced low to attract fleet operators.

Maruti WagonR Nexa

A new Maruti WagonR Nexa is also rumoured to be launched soon. This new car will be powered with the conventional ICE engine but with different styling and features to compensate for its premium price. Heavy camouflage on both the cars makes it difficult to differentiate but expect both the cars to look quite different. This new car however will be sold through Maruti’s premium Nexa channel. A turbo petrol engine option may be a welcome addition too to differentiate the car from its predecessor.
