Honda WR-V Launch Date Confirmed

Rumours regarding the launch of a new 2020 Honda WR-V have been going around in the market for quite a long time now. We published an article recently talking about its first looks and probable launch date. Now Honda has officially teased the launch date of the new Honda WR-V. Reservations for the upcoming crossover for an initial payment of Rs.21,000 has started across showrooms.

Launch and Price

The new Honda WR-V will be launched on July 2, 2020, as teased by Honda in a recent video.  The current generation Honda WR-V costs between Rs.8.16 lakh to Rs.10.48 lakh. The new car will be more of an engine update rather than a facelift. Minor tweaks will be made to differentiate from the predecessor.

Engine and Performance

Coming straight to part where major changes will be seen.  Both Petrol and Diesel BS6 compliant engines will be available on offer. 

Honda may only provide manual transmission with the new car. The fuel efficiency figures have also said to decrease after the update. The BS4 compliant Honda WR-V petrol and diesel produced 17.5 km/l and 25.5 km/l respectively.

Changes in interiors

Minor changes will be visible in the 2020 Honda WR-V.  Honda will provide reverse cameras, keyless entry, automatic climate control and cruise control including others on the top-spec model.  The new Honda WR-V 2020 will support both Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Honda may also provide new seat upholstery to differentiate from the previous generation and add a premium touch.

Exterior tweaks

Honda will incorporate boldness and sportiness on the new car. A revised front bumper and grille, integrated Projector lamps with DRLs and faux skid plate will add to the looks of the car.  SUV styling elements will make an appearance on the new Honda WR-V 2020.

The 2020 Honda WR-V will continue to compete against Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Tata Nexon including others. New BS6 compliant engines will help it stand apart and diesel engine may prove to be a strong point and selling factor for Honda.
