The current generation Mahindra XUV500 costs Rs.13.13 lakh to Rs.17.64 lakh. This car comes in 4 variants with a single engine and manual transmission on offer. The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will come with new exteriors, interiors and powertrain options. Price may increase with new engines on offer. Find more below. According to the spy shots, the new Mahindra XUV500 retains a new tallboy look like the WagonR. Round headlights with vertically positioned DRLs adds a fresh new touch to the car. Jeep-Compass like vertical front grilles are also present in the new Mahindra XUV500. New flush type door handles, redesigned front and rear bumpers and larger dimensions will be present.  The rear profile looks quite the same.

The current generation Mahindra XUV500 comes with a single 2179cc BS6 Diesel engine. It produces a maximum power output of 152.87bhp@3750rpm and a peak torque of 360Nm@1750-2800rpm. Mahindra showcased new petrol engines in its mStallion range on Auto Expo 2020 and the new car may get one.  The new Mahindra XUV500 may come with a 2.0L TGDi petrol engine producing 190hp and 380Nm of torque. Diesel option may retain the same engine as its predecessor but with slight performance improvements. Both 6-speed manual and 6-speed CVT may be offered with the new car. With the petrol engine, Mahindra may entice new customers under its brand.

The spy shots do not reveal a lot about interiors. However, a new fully digital instrument cluster, larger floating touchscreen infotainment system and a flat-bottom steering wheel will be welcome additions. The new car is expected to be much more premium and comfortable than the ongoing model. Larger dimensions may ultimately lead to a wider cabin space too.
