MG has been a success in the Indian Market and the brand is trying its best to maintain the same. The car manufacturer is going to launch a lot of new cars bound for the Indian market. A 3-row MG Hector also known as the Hector Plus and MG Gloster may launch in the Indian market soon. The company is also planning to launch a Kia Carnival rival in the country. Currently, Maxus G10 received a mild-update in the Chinese market, which shares the segment with Kia Carnival. Read below for MG G10 updates in China 2020.

Change in interiors?

The 2021 MG G10 has been offered with (7/8/9) seating options in the Chinese market currently. The Indian model is rumoured to share some features with the MG Hector. Expect to see entertainment arrangements for rear-seat passengers, a large HD touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, LED headlamps, alloy wheels, powered sliding doors, leather upholstery and sunroof.

The MG is definitely larger in terms of dimension compared to the Kia Carnival. If priced competitively it can acquire a major market share from the Kia Carnival. Both the cars have been made for being chauffeur-driven and comfortable and premium rear-seat experience

Engine and Performance

MG G10

The biggest change in the 2021 Maxus G10 in China is the new engines. The all-new 2.0-litre Turbo Petrol engine has been now tuned to produce 224hp and 350Nm of torque. The old diesel engine has been replaced by a new 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine producing 163hp and 375Nm of torque. Both engines have been made available in manual and automatic transmissions. The petrol variant gets a 6-speed automatic while the diesel variant gets an 8-speed to differentiate.

Launch in India

MG G10

The MG luxury MPV was first showcased in the 2020 Auto Expo as a rebadged version of the Maxus G10. As both MG and Maxus share the same parent company i.e. SAIC, the MG offering shares its platform, engine and features with its Maxus sibling. As a result, any further changes made to the Maxus G10 are expected to make an appearance on the India-bound version too. The MG G10 is believed to be launched in 2021 in India.
