What came first, the scale model or the car? If you love your wheels then chances are that you’ll have a thing or two for scale models. Not only have they gotten incredibly realistic over the years, but for many, they often form the first point of contact for enthusiasts, introducing them to a car/bike before they can actually buy it. And then at times, you get to see the scale model long before the car is officially launched – like the all-new Volvo V90 Estate that’s been detailed in full 1:43 scale glory.

All thanks to an unnamed scale model factory employee, we get the chance to view the 2016 Volvo V90 Estate in intricate detail. As has been the case of late, the 2016 Volvo V90 sports stunning lines that pay homage to the 2014 Concept Estate that Volvo had showcased some time back. The view from the rear is as stunning as the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlamps at the front and the overall dimensions confirm that this will be a proper estate, Volvo’s first since the 2007  V70. Other exterior details include roof rails finished in chrome, a sun-roof that stretches across the passenger cabin, shark-fin antenna and a full-size spoiler on the hatch.

Power-train options are expected to be shared with the Volvo XC90 SUV with the 257 bhp, 350 Nm torque spouting 2.

0 litre turbo petrol starting things off and the D5 2.0 litre, 228 Bhp, 470 Nm twin-turbo diesel being the pick of the oil-burners.
