The singular snap is all that Datsun has revealed in a teaser a while ago for its upcoming concept car. The rest of it and the car indeed, should be out in full glory at the official unveiling due to take place at the Motor Show in Tokyo sometime later next week. Sources say that the new crossover will be based on the recently launched Renault KWID as part of the Renault Nissan Alliance.

While little can be confirmed at this stage, the single teaser snap does go on to show that the new Datsun concept crossover will use a dual-LED headlamp design. Everything else is subject to speculation but we reckon that Datsun will indeed dip into its existing parts bin in a bid to keep costs competitive. So expect a lot of parts & power-train sharing across the alliance, particularly with respect to dashboard components, steering controls and other trim details.  The new crossover concept follows close on the heels of the Redi-GO; a five-door car that’s likely to rival the Tata Nano. While these Datsun concepts are unlikely to make it to core North American and European markets, they just might be the next wave of models to make it to emerging ones like ours.

Question is, just how much of their bold lines and advanced features would make it in original, undiluted form, if and when they do get launched here.
