The sedan segment in India has seen its ups and downs. But still, in terms of styling,  comfort, and rear-seat value, no segment is close to sedans.  Executive sedans compete with SUV in the market but have successfully managed to keep businessmen and small families in their roster. Honda Civic was last sold in India in 2012.

After a 7 year gap, this high selling executive sedan returned to the Indian market in 2019 with its 10th generation model in the form of New Honda Civic.

Customers have been a little let down by its high price but its ride comfort, features, and serviceability has retained and added new customers under its shade. Let us look directly at some of the things we like in this car, which make this car stand-out in the tough competitive Indian market.

External Look

The first impression is the last impression. And Honda Civic knows this proverb very well. Strong angular lines make it look stylish and seamless.

The low ride height makes it stick to the ground. The dimensions of the New Honda Civic have definitely have been increased in comparison to the previous model which gives it a fresh look and feel. The new length is 4656mm, width is 1799mm, and height is 1433mm.

The shark tail fin at the top of the roof compliments the sportiness of the car. Wide track 17-inch alloy wheels promise you the best looks along with superb grip. The front bumper comes with chrome strips and LED lights cut in sharp contrast. Bumper flares, sporty wheel arches, C shaped taillights, and a whole lot of other sporty elements will beg you to take the car to a racetrack for a spin!

Ride and Handling

New Honda Civic has the best ride and handling in its class and that makes it a joy to drive. The low ride height helps you overall and there is a negligible body roll present. The steering is responsive and comes with all modern steering mounted controls. Driving on curvy roads will never be an issue for you though the turning radius of 5.85 m may disappoint you a bit but is acceptable for sedans.

The suspension is on the stiff side and well balanced. The ride height may look low from outside but will never stop you from taking on the moderately sized speed-breakers in the city. Cabin insulation is best in its class and you will love the rear seat comfort.

Safety

Interiors

The driver-focused environment of the car is noticeable from the first moment you set foot inside the cabin.  The instrument cluster is divided into 3 parts. The large digital speedometer adds a futuristic and sporty touch to the interiors of the New Honda Civic.

Tachometer, fuel and temperature gauges are located on either side of the car.

The electronic parking brake has been placed in the car to free up space and there are bits and pieces of space everywhere all over the cabin. Back seat comfort has been well delivered by the manufacturer. There is a generous amount of legroom on the rear seats but features a low headroom being a sedan, so is an area where you might have to compromise.

Price and Fuel efficiency

The price of the new Honda civic is from ₹17.93 lakh to ₹21.24 lakh. While it is not exactly on the cheap side but you get all the safety features from the base variant itself which is a standalone point. Fuel efficiency of Petrol auto has surely increased an has gone up to 16.6 km/l. But expect a fuel efficiency close to 7.5 km/l in the city and 11.5 km/l on the highway.
