Current generation Scorpio 2020 costs from ₹12.40 lakh to ₹16.00 lakh. Both its upcoming competitors Tata Gravitas and MG Hector plus have been hinted to be priced around ₹15 lakh.  Definitely expect the lower model of Scorpio to cost cheaper than the competition and for its success, the company has to price it aggressively. Next Gen Scorpio Exterior

Seeing the first look of the car you will immediately realize that the curvy and round features of the Scorpio are a thing of the past. The redesigned Scorpio is a delight for the eyes and credit here fully goes to the Design team. The next gen Scorpio has replaced all its curves with straight angular lines. The high stance of SUV and other premium features have been retained. The bonnet has been also redesigned with an added hood scoop. The new SUV has been made on the same ladder frame design and helps it stand out on the road from the competition.

You may feel the next Gen Scorpio has become a little boxy but believe us, the first impressions are always slightly deceptive. The signature five grille design has been also implemented in the car. The test car had bare essentials attached to it but rest assured the production variant of the car will come all the modern features, accessories, and equipment. Moreover, SUV like Scorpio is much more for pure driving fun and focus less on the extra stuff.

Next Gen Scorpio Interior

The touchscreen infotainment system will surely have a place on the updated and redesigned dashboard. Expect bits and pieces from Marazzo to greet you in the interior of this new car. Autocar has recently confirmed that the interior was conceptualized and shaped at Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre in Detroit, United States, and has been engineered and developed at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai.

Next Gen Scorpio Engine

Though Engine options on the next gen Scorpio have still not been confirmed officially by the manufacturer speculations have been made that it might come with a 140hp, 2.2-litre diesel, and also Mahindra’s new G20 2.0-litre petrol engine that’s expected to make around 190hp and 380Nm. Both will, naturally, be BS6-compliant or a 1.5-litre MStallion TGDI engine that is tuned to make 160 bhp and 280 Nm peak torque. Further reports by the company can confirm the rumours. Mahindra has confirmed that they will be definitely working more on the petrol engines in future.

The confirmed news report suggests that the current generation Scorpio will only get a BS6 Engine upgrade as of now.
