Hatchback

Tata Tiago

In the hatchback segment, the Tata Tiago comes into the picture. Being a Tata car, all of the parts are manufactured locally by the company. It is also priced economically with Rs 4.60 – 6.60 lakhs (ex-showroom). It only gets a petrol engine and no diesel option, but the petrol is offered with a manual as well as an automatic transmission. It is also one of the safest cars of its segment getting a NCAP rating of four stars.

Compact SUV

This segment is one of the most popular ones in the current market. The Indian consumers are preferring SUVs to sedans which have caused this segment to be flooded by-products from all manufacturers. From the many options that you can choose, the Mahindra XUV300 is a product that is manufactured completely in our country.

The car gets a five-star safety rating along with loads of creature comforts on the inside to keep you comfortable at all times. This costs Rs 8.30 – 12.70 lakhs (ex-showroom). Electric vehicles

The EV line-up in India is small but promising. Although there is not enough infrastructure for EV cars, they are still sought after by people. For now, there are only three long-range electric vehicles in India and all of them are SUVs.

Tata Nexon EV Made in India

Out of these vehicles, the Tata Nexon EV is one car that is manufactured in India totally. You get a five-star safety rating in this car. Along with this you also get an impressive range of 312 kms. It is also a competitively priced car costing from Rs 14-16 lakhs (ex-showroom).

MPV

In the MPV segment, the Mahindra Marazzo is one such car that is manufactured completely in India. It is the only car that has been able to give competition to the Maruti Ertiga.

Premium luxury cars

While there is no presence of Indian manufacturers in this segment, Jaguar and Land Rover cars would be the preferred choice in this criteria. This is due to the reason that JLR is owned by none other than Tata.
