Current Market Scenario

After the huge success of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, every car manufacturing company in India wants a piece of the pie. The Indian market has changed drastically and premium SUVs have taken a boom in Sales. Tata has a lot of SUV in their line up but the not a direct rival to the above mentioned. The Tata Harrier is above those 2 cars and the Tata Nexon is compact SUV. So does tata have a plan to bring in a car that competes with these SUVs? Is the Upcoming Tata Blackbird project baby steps towards it?

What is BlackBird?

Many speculations have been made about Blackbird(Codename) and the Internet has been flooded with rendered images but no official statement or teaser has been released by TATA Motors themselves. The catalogue of Tata Cars has been performing well and with the entry of this new car, the brand dreams to reach new heights.

Upcoming Tata Blackbird

They also have 2 cars pending to launch which were shown at the Auto Expo 2020. One of them is the 7-seater version of the Harrier called the Tata Gravitas. The other one is the Tata HBX which is a micro SUV.

Upcoming Tata Blackbird Features

Speaking about the car, Tata would never price it anywhere near its own products so expect the price to be more than Nexon and less than Harrier. Some exclusive new features may be the selling point of this car, but not much can be said about it now. To beat Creta and likewise, Tata will have to do a great job to bring a fresh product that impresses the Indian public after this massive pandemic.

Tata Gravitas, Upcoming Tata Blackbird

Tata Motors have already announced a new Hexa BS6 and Gravitas(premium SUV), Upcoming Tata blackbird still is left to be confirmed by the team. Judging by its competitors(Hyundai Venue, Suzuki Brezza), you get a fairly good idea about the way Tata is heading. The engine options and other related facts have not been at all disclosed and any relevant information found as of now on the Internet is highly debatable.

Upcoming Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas is a 7 seater premium SUV which has been officially revealed by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo 2020. All premium features available in the competitors will be available in the Gravitas too. You may find the design elements of Harrier being used, but it improvises them. The third-row seat comfort and leg-room is a class-beater and you won’t find something better elsewhere as of now.

Rear AC vents, Charging points, Ambient lighting, JBL sound system, and a whole lot of other features are available. The interior has been freshly re-designed and looks spectacular. The exterior looks pretty much as a redesigned Harrier but looks something much more premium.

Third-row seat comfort will be a major selling point of this car and we highly recommend you to check out our video for an in-detail review. For our walkaround and thoughts in Hindi do check out our video

If you the question about the wait is to be answered then the answer will be no for now. There isn’t a solid plan for the vehicle that has been revealed. There are cars like Nexon and Harrier which are excellent cars in their segments. There is no launch date for the Upcoming Tata Blackbird. Also, there are 2 launches that are pending to be done before Tata launches a completely unrevealed car. So we would suggest that waiting for this car is not an option now.

  • I was impressed Tata blackbird. sure it will rule the Indian SUV market and it should be purely Indian design not china version. or technical know how etc. .
sure I love to go head for black bird if its indigenously made.
Tata will be no:1 SUV manufacture and also it will be popular in out side the India too
