When we think of Indian Police vehicles we often limit to the Mahindra Bolero, Tata Sumo, Maruti Ertiga or other such modern SUVs and MPV. However, there are some exceptional Police vehicles that will surely blow you mind for sure. Let’s check it out.

1. Mahindra Marksman

If you are a Bollywood film geek you would have probably seen it in action movies. The Mahindra Marksman was built to tackle the terrorist attacks. It has been deployed to Maharasthra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi Police. This India Police Vehicle is completely bulletproof and also can withstand a grenade attack. There are multiple holes from which Policemen or Army person can fire the gun. The Mahindra Marksman is equipped with a 2.5-litre engine producing 105 bhp max power and 228 Nm of peak torque. And of course, it is a 4X4 vehicle.

2. Reva

Reva was the first electric car that had a production line in India. It was a very small car and had a range of 50 km per charge. It had a top speed of 60 km/hr. But why would a Police department buy a slow car? The reason is it is used for patrolling duties and not for some chase. Also, it is a nice gesture from the Police department towards the contribution to mother nature. These Reva cars are were brought by the Chandigarh Police in 2006. This vehicle was the only Electric among the Indian Police Vehicles.

Polaris Ranger Crew is a side by side vehicle in various western countries. It can travel through a farm, narrow spaces, mud, sand, rock, etc. The Polaris Ranger Crew can go to the places where it’s almost impossible for normal cars. It is been used by Kerala Police and Gujarat Police to tackle the Naxalites who hide in the dense forests. Offroad Indian Police vehicles are mostly used on the beach and tricky places where the regular road car cannot go. It is powered by a 4.76-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces about 215 BHP max power and massive 800 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle weighs 11 tons and can achieve a top speed of 110 km/hr.
