Before going to the differentiating element we would like you to tell about the key elements of this scooter. BattRE Electric Mobility has partnered with Aeris Communications, a California based tech company. The BattRE GPSie receives a host of connected features sourced from the Aeris.

It’s a sim card based smart technology in which you can simply get connected with the scooter through the smartphone application.

Along with all these features, you will also get device status alert, tow alert, crash alert, speeding alert.

Ride Sharing

No, it’s not similar to Ola or Uber but more like a rent cycle. In a metropolitan city like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, etc you might have rented a cycle. Now, the founder of the BattRE Electric Mobility, Mr Nishchal Chaudhary has stated that this e-scooter will be a game-changer for ride-sharing companies. It will be a better alternative for the cyles or e-cyles which have very limited travel range. Also, one more problem with the e-cycle or cycle was that it can just carry one person comfortably, so this problem might also be get solved. Due to the smart connectivity technology, the ride-sharing companies would not have to plug an external system, which costs a lot.

BattRE GPSie

The BattRE GPSie comes with a 65 km range on a single charge. It is been powered by a 48V 24 Ah lithium-ion battery pack which just weighs 12 kgs. Another good thing about this e-scooter is that it just weighs 60 kgs. The scooter can achieve a top speed of 25 km/h which is still quite slow for cities like Mumbai and Delhi but still manageable. The charging time of the scooter is about 2.5 hours which is fast enough. The manufacturer has claimed that the battery has a life of 2,000 charging cycles and can last 7 years depending on use.

The BattRE GPSie come with no fancy yet functional hardware bits. The front suspension is done by telescopic forks and rear with mono-shock. The braking is done with the help of 220 mm disc for both the ends. The alloy wheels are of 10-inch for both ends.

Price

The BattRE GPSie is priced at Rs 64,990 (ex-showroom). It will be competing against other affordable e-scooters such as Hero electric scooters as well as Okinawa scooters. Currently, it’s been available in some of the major cities of the Tamil Nadu, Maharastra, Andra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat and UP. Currently, the company is planning to open dealerships in Pune, Vizag and Warangal. The company targets the 50th dealership in India by the end of the year.
