Kia has become a household name since the launch of its first product- the Seltos. The Sonet is supposed to establish the brand’s position in the sub-compact SUV segment which is highly sought after. Although India is the biggest market for hatchbacks, people are shifting towards SUVs. The Sonet is expected to be another volume seller for Kia in this range. The car was originally planned to be launched in the month of August. However, with the extension of the lockdown, the launch could be shifted towards September or October. Kia plans to get the product into the market around the festive season, as that will improve its sales figure. The company also believes that this will be an important product as it will boost the morale of the dealerships as well. The Kia Sonet 2020 could also be headed towards a Diwali launch.

The brand will be recognised much more with the launch of this car as well.

Features and Interiors

This is an area where Kia cars excel and strive ahead of the competition. The Sonet is expected to have the latest features and premium interiors as well. The interiors of the Kia Sonet 2020 were recently been leaked and it is indeed a mini Kia Seltos. Like the Kia Seltos, it will have loads of features to take on its rivals that include a 10.

25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connect. This feature will probably be on the higher variants of the car. The car also gets other features such as wireless charging facility, sunroof, ambient lighting, automatic climate control system, adjustable headrests, keyless entry and so on.

The safety features will range from multiple airbags, Anti-lock brakes, reverse parking sensors and camera alongside a host of assistive technologies.

Apart from all this the Kia Sonet 2020 will apply the same formula as the Kia Seltos and be priced very competitively and also be offered in a host of variants. It will be priced between Rs 7-12 lakh (ex-showroom) and compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon and the Hyundai Venue. The Kia Seltos has been one of the highest-selling cars in the country.  The Kia Sonet will be the third offering from the company and it also plans to do the same thing.
