Hyundai India has recently announced that the Tucson facelift that was also showcased in the Auto Expo this year will be the next product that is launched by the company. Hyundai had big plans for model launches this year and although there is a pandemic, it is continuing with its plans.

Recently, the new Creta was launched after which the Verna facelift was also launched officially. The all-new Elite i20 could also be launched later this year. But for now, we have the launch of the Hyundai Tucson 2020 on our radar.

The Hyundai Tucson 2020 will come with a BS6 ready 2.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol that produces 150 bhp and 192 nm of torque. Along with that, you get a 2.0-litre diesel that produces 182 bhp and a massive 400nm of torque. The petrol gets the older six-speed torque converter automatic, while the diesel being the more powerful one gets the new eight-speed automatic. This also makes it one of the most powerful diesel engines in its segment.

From the front, the car gets a revised headlight with an integrated LED line in the headlight itself. The front grille also gets a make-over with a revised mesh grille. The grille and the lights are joined by a chrome insert giving the car a three-dimensional look. The bonnet has been given a clean look. On the side, the most noticeable change is the new design of the alloy wheels along with new skid plates. At the rear, you get a new design of LED taillights along with chrome-tipped exhausts.

You also get loads of boot space along with an electric tailgate and a reverse camera.

Features of the Hyundai Tucson 2020

On the inside, the car gets a slightly newer design of the dashboard and the main feature being the 8.0-inch screen which has the new Blue Link technology that allows the car to be remotely controlled by Hyundai’s mobile app which includes functions such as starting up the car and controlling the AC via the mobile app itself. The car gets Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, and also Infinity premium speakers. It also gets 8-way adjustable seats for the passenger for the first time. It gets a full black interior and a revised steering wheel along with integrated buttons on it. Additional features are the panoramic sunroof, park assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, electric parking brake along with a wireless charger.

Pricing and launch

The pricing of the car will be expected to increase slightly over the currently offered car. This will officially be the first car launch by the company after the lockdown has ended. The car will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Tata Harrier in our market.
