TrailHawk badge is a very prestigious badge for Jeep brand. It comes with very selected Jeep SUVs that has potential to do ultimate offroading stuff. Jeep Compass TrailHawk is one of the selected SUVs. In the blog, we will not see whether it is worth the badge or not. However, in the blog we will see what does the year 2020 brings for the Jeep Compass TrailHawk as well what we can expect for the future.


In terms of technical specifications and features, the 2020 Jeep Compass TrailHawk 2020 retains almost every piece from the previous model. It still comes with a 2.0-litre Multijet II Turbo diesel engine which is of course now a BS6 compliant. The engine produces about 170 bhp max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It still continues to be the most powerful engine in the segment and why shouldn’t it. The engine comes paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, That means it has short gears, which is said to give a better torque output. The power is distributed to all four wheels.

It is said that “it ain’t broke why fix it”. The 2020 model comes with nothing new but still matches the trend. The Jeep Compass TrailHawk 2020 comes with multiple modes for the ease the off-roading. The modes include Snow, Sand, Mud and Rock. The safety features include six airbags, ABS, traction control, hill descent control, hill start assist, hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, etc. For the convenience, it comes with steering mounted buttons, semi-digital instrument cluster, full touch screen infotainment system with voice assistance and smartphone connectivity, electronically adjustable ORVMs, etc. To enhance the comfort, the Jeep Compass TrailHawk 2020 comes with dual-zone climate control, plush seats, panoramic sunroof and more.

Expected in Future

Jeep Compass TrailHawk currently comes with only five colour options which are not bad at all. However, to give it a fresh appeal, the manufacturer must give it special colour options. Many of the customers are willing to have a fully digital instrument cluster rather than semi-digital. So we can expect that manufacturer has reserved it for the next update. Nevertheless, the Jeep Compass TrailHawk 2020 is still a pretty good mid-sized SUV you can buy today.

Pricewise, Jeep Compass TrailHawk is on the expensive side of the segment. It costs Rs 26.8 lakhs (ex-showroom) while the optional variant costs Rs 27.6 lakhs (ex-showroom).  At the price point, you can actually buy a full-sized seven-seater SUV, so that’s a little bit disappointing. But Wait, Jeep is expected to launch seven-seater Compass in near future and that’s a nice thing, isn’t it? It competes against other mid-sized SUVs such as Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta but none of these mid-sized SUVs come with 4×4 drive mode.
