Mahindra Mojo, the adventure tourer from a brand who manufactured some of the legendary SUVs in India. However, the Mahindra Mojo didn’t gain the popularity it was meant for. The owners quite appreciate the bike, but somehow the voice didn’t travel nationwide. The bike went several updates, but still, it did not succeed. The bike currently is in BS6 ready form (2020 Mahindra Mojo), but sadly the bike might not come into the BS6 form. So what did actually went wrong with the bike?

Mahindra has been quite unsuccessful in the two-wheeler market which led the company to shut down many showrooms across India. The only bike that still held the company on the edge was the Mojo and it seems that Mahindra two-wheelers have no BS6 bike now. The main reason behind the fall might be the tough competition it had from the Bajaj Dominar and some other sub 500 cc bikes. Many find that the bike is overpriced for its offering which might be true as well. However, we still think the bike is a good touring machine.

Mahindra Mojo

Power

The Mahindra Mojo was equipped with a 294.72 cc single-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine which made about 26 bhp max power and 28 Nm peak torque. To give you a reference, the torque output of the 2020 Mojo 300 was more than KTM 250 Duke which is incredible. The bike really had the touring DNA, even the latest update of the bike has many useful tweaks and changes as well.

2020 Mahindra Mojo changes

The first change it has made with the 2020 Mahindra Mojo was the front suspension. The 2020 Mojo came with conventional telescopic suspension because many customers reported that USD forks had leakage problems if ridden on rough trails for long period. Also, the exhaust pipe was slightly upswept as many riders cornered hard with the bike. It came with 320 mm petal disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear from ByBre. These brakes were assisted by dual-channel non-switchable ABS. Considering all the hardware bits, Mojo was a great all-round product.

However, due to the poor service network, many customers didn’t really want to risk in investing on the bike. Mahindra currently is focusing more on the Jawa motorcycles, so it’s still uncertain about reviving the Mahindra two-wheeler brand. Nevertheless, we think the Mahindra two-wheeler brand has good potential than many of us might think of.

Price

The last noted price of the 2020 Mahindra Mojo was at Rs 1.89 lakhs (ex-showroom) which is fair enough for power and hardware it has.
