KTM 200 Duke is the most popular and is a lot more VFM bike than most of the bikes in the country. With the BS6 transition, it’s even more VFM bike. The BS6 upgrade comes with five major changes that make any KTM enthusiast to want this in their parking spot. Let’s check it out what these five major changes are in the KTM 200 Duke BS6.

1.Design

It the change you will find out at a very first glance. The bike now looks similar to the 250 Duke anyone can get confused it with 250 Duke. The 200 Duke BS6 gets the split trellis frame which offers a more aggressive riding position as well as dynamics. The graphics and colour options are different than the KTM 250 Duke to make it differentiate. Nevertheless, the bike has now become much more likeable and better handler.

2.Engine

KTM 200 Duke BS6

The engine is retained from the previous BS4 version, however, now the engine is tuned to comply with the BS6 emission norms. So the bike now puts a less burden on the mother nature. The engine now produces around 24.6 bhp max power and 19.3 Nm of peak torque as compared to BS4 models 25.4 bhp and 19.5 Nm. So there is a slight drop in power which will be disappointing for the speed enthusiasts. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. It’s currently the most powerful bike in the segment.

3.Practicality

Tourers have good news this time. The KTM 200 Duke now comes with approx 13.5 litres of the fuel tank as opposed to 11 litres of BS4 200 Duke. So it will be surely helpful in the long tours.

The bike now comes with a longer seat for the rider as well as the pillion. So it has increased overall practicality. However, the seat height is now gone up by 12 mm so that might be a bit hectic for shorter riders.

4.Features

The KTM 200 Duke BS6 is now equipped with LED DRLs and LED taillights. Also, the bike now comes with dual-channel ABS which is switchable. Due to the switchable ABS, you can have some fun with the rear tyre. Moreover, other features remain similar to the previous bike. It still continues to get LED indicators, full-digital instrumental cluster, etc.

5.Price

Of course, good things come for a good price. When compared to the BS4 model, it now costs Rs 10,496 more. The BS6 variant now starts at Rs 1.

72 Lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Nevertheless, we think the price is still justifiable and still makes it the VFM motorcycle.

The KTM 200 Duke BS6 competes against Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
