In an adventurous country like India, dual-purpose or ADV motorcycles are the new trend. Many manufacturers have been ventured into the ADV bike segment. KTM is now pretty common name among the tourers.

Previously KTM 390 Duke was used as touring motorcycle but KTM soon understood the demand and brought KTM 390 Adventure.

However, power enthusiasts are waiting for the KTM 790 Adventure, so will it come to India? Well, let’s find it out.

The KTM 790 Adventure was showcased during the India Bike Week in 2019.

As well as the manufacturer has already confirmed that it will surely be bringing the 790 Adventure in India but 790 Adventure R launch is still suspicious. Nevertheless, the specific timeline is not yet confirmed but we can expect it around Diwali this year. Let’s find out what we will be offered after its launch.

KTM 790 Adventure-R

Engine

The engine will be the same as of the KTM 790 Duke. Its a 799 cc twin-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled unit producing about 103 bhp max power and 87 Nm of peak torque.

However, these figures were of the BS4 unit, the BS6 unit might have slightly different figures. The engine comes paired with six-speed gearbox and slipper or anti-hopping clutch. Of course, it will be getting bi-directional quick shifters as well.

Hardware

Talking about its hardware specs, it will be getting a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel. And yes both of them are spoke wheels with tubeless tyres, which was a miss on the 390 ADV. The suspension duty at the front is managed by USD forks while the rear gets managed by the mono-shock suspension. Braking of the bike is done with the help of twin 320 mm disc at the front and 260 mm disc at the rear, the callipers do have four-pistons which guarantees good braking performance.

KTM 790 Adventure R

Touring enthusiasts are always worried about the range and we think this might be not the case with KTM 790 Adventure.

The bike comes with 20-litres of fuel tank capacity so it will surely have a good range. Ergonomically, the bike is expected to be slightly comfortable than the 390 Adventure.

Features

When talking about the KTM motorcycle we can’t really miss the features. The bike comes with a fully-digital instrument cluster that can be connected to your smartphone to receive phone calls, navigation, etc. To enhance the touring ability, the bike also features cruise control, traction control and various riding modes as well. For better off-road ability, it also comes with off-road ABS that well suits different surface conditions. Of course, it also possesses cornering ABS that allows you to pull the motorcycle matching the lean angle.

Price

With all those features and top-notch hardware, it will surely have a price tag between Rs 11.5-12 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be competing against the big ADV bikes in the country such as BMW 750GS and the popular Triumph Tiger 800 XRx.
