But there is hope at the end and everything is expected to be normal once the cure for this CoronaVirus is found. As we all will be on a budget crunch after this lockdown and so here is a list of cars under Rs 5 lakhs which you can buy after Lockdown is lifted.  In this article, we will go through each car and also take a look at the production status of the company due to the COVID-19 Lockdown.

Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago makes it first on our list as this car is one of the safest and recommended cars in this price bracket. Its price ranges from Rs 4.6 lakhs to Rs 6.6 lakhs. The car gets the highest safety rating of 4 stars by Global NCAP. Moreover, the Tata Brand is reliable in terms of engine and other parts availability. The build quality of the vehicle gets to the company of a powerful engine. This engine is a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder engine. It comes in Petrol only and gets both Manual and AMT options. The car is expected to give a fuel economy of 20 Km/l. This vehicle comes with corner Stability control and EBD. Also, it gets basic trending features like a fully digital instrument cluster.   In these CoronaVirus Crisis Tata has paused their production till 4th May. Ratan Tata had also pledged Rs 500 Crores for the COVID-19 Crisis.

Renault Kwid Facelift

Renault Kwid is one of the most stylish looking cars in this segment. It is also priced attractively from Rs 2.9 lakhs to Rs 5.01 lakhs. In terms of engine options to it has 2 on offer. With the 800cc model on the base and the 1.0-litre engine on the higher variants. It also gets Manual and AMT options on the higher variants. The power of this car is good and feels punchy because of its low weight. The lack of a heavy chassis does compromise on safety by giving an exceptional mileage of 25.17 km/l.

Kwid Facelift

Talking about the design the car has the most modern-looking front with the LED daytime running lights on top of the headlights as on the Harrier. Also, it gets a good amount of features with the all-new Touch screen system and a reverse parking camera is seen on the top variants. You can also get some unique colours on this car which are pretty striking. There are also 14-inch wheels on offer only on the Kwid. As of now, Renault production has not resumed after it had been paused on the account of COVID-19 Crisis Internationally the French court has ordered a halt of production in Renault Factories.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is one such tried and tested the product on our list today which can be bought with eyes close. The car does not have anything unique or exceptionally special. But it is a car that checks all boxes of just being a car.

Its price starts at Rs 4.45 lakhs and then at Rs 5.94 lakhs all the variants exhaust. The car gets 2 engine options and there is an AMT along with a manual on both of them.

Maruti WagonR

The 1.0-litre engine also gets a CNG option and this only gets the Manual gearbox. The engine produces a power of 67 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre engine gets 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The car is very fuel-efficient with 20 km/l mileage. All this is achieved by a light chassis and soft suspension. Also, the tyre profile is thin so as to give better mileage. The WagonR is bigger than most of its competitors in this segment. There is a lot of spacious feel because of the large glass area and the boot space. But the suspension of the car is a bit of a letdown. Maruti has resumed the production of their vehicles from 4th May when the Lockdown for CoronaVirus had entered the stage 3.0.

Maruti Alto 800

Maruti Alto is the oldest car that has made it to this list. The car has been there in the Indian Market for a long time. It gets an 800 cc BS6 engine which is compatible for CNG too. There is no AMT on offer and this is where the price of the car is kept under check. Its price ranges from Rs 2.94 lakhs to Rs 4.36 lakhs. It has an amazing fuel economy of 25 km/l. The only issue of this car is that the Safety has been compromised because of the old chassis and price restrictions. Maruti is working on a new 800cc engine and we might be able to see a new-gen alto by the year 2021.

Maruti Spresso

This is the latest offering from Maruti. The car is based on the mini SUV concept. It has been designed from the inside out and prioritizes on the space on offer inside. The outer design of the car looks a bit weird and boxy because of this. It is priced at Rs 3.7 lakhs to Rs 4.99 lakhs. Comes with a 1.0-litre engine. The car also gets a CNG variant. There is an AMT option on the petrol variant only. The handling is similar to that of the older gen WagonR. In some ways, this car is a successor to the last-gen of WagonR. The soft suspension of the vehicle makes it a bit unstable at high speeds.
