It’s quite unusual to compare a different segment with the different segment but many buyers really aren’t an enthusiast of just one segment. While buying the new bike most of us first set the price range and then decide on the bike. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Husqvarna 250s are two different segment bikes that occur in a similar price range. This article will help you to choose between these two bikes according to your use.

Daily Duty

We are many times asked about the best bike which suits the daily duties as well. We generally travel to the workplace on a daily basis and comfort during these short travels is very essential. Royal Enfield 350 is a retro bike so it offers a good amount of comfort in fewer traffic areas, however, in dense traffics the bike really becomes hectic sometimes. There are many suggestions that the bike engines heat a lot in the city traffic and the heat is felt in slow traffics. Another problem that might occur is during the parking in tight spaces. The bike is quite heavy so that might be a problem while you unpark from congested places.

On the other hand, Husqvarna 250 twins are lightweight or we can say it has a good centre of gravity. Due to this, it will be surely easy to unpark or park your motorcycle. Also, the bike comes with liquid-cooler so heating of the engine is not a big issue in Husqvarna 250 twins.

Power

Both the bikes do have an ample amount of power for city rides as well as for touring purposes. Royal Enfield Classic 350 comes with a 346 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine. The engine produces around 19.1 bhp max power and 28 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with a 5-speed gearbox. On the other hand, Husqvarna 250 twins come with a 29.2 bhp max power and 24 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has better torque while the Husqvarna 250 has better power output. So you won’t complain about the performance. Mileage is pretty much the same on both the motorcycles around 35-37 km/l. The Royal Enfield will feel stressed at high speed whereas the Husquvarana will be much better in terms of high-speed performance.

Touring ability

Touring on a motorcycle is a pretty common practice nowadays. Royal Enfield Classic 350 comes with well-cushioned seats (it’s a single-seater but you can buy pillion seat as an accessory) as well as the pillion seat is also good enough. On the long tours, you will be very comfortable as the posture is also good for touring. On the other hand, Husqvarna 250 comes with decent cushioned seats but that won’t be a problem as you can buy an aftermarket cushioned seat cover. Nevertheless, the posture on Husqvarna 250s is a bit of a sporty posture so you will have to take more breaks on while touring. The pillion seat of the motorcycle is quite short, especially for Indian ladies it would be a problem on the long journey.

Verdict

Finally, you have to decide, if you are going to buy a bike now and upgrade in the next 5 year then you should buy the Husqvarna. It is a good powerful punchy bike with adequate performance. But if you are planning to buy a bike and use it for the next 20 years then the Royal Enfield makes more sense. It clear performance against style.  The Royal Enfield Classic 350 costs Rs 1.57-1.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the Husqvarna 250’s costs Rs 1.8 lakhs (ex-showroom). Other motorcycles that come in same price band includes Jawa forty two, Bajaj Dominar 250, KTM 200 Duke and RC 200.
